Three-year project to support students in career growth and development will be supported by Colorado Succeeds, Jobs for the Future, and NORC at the University of Chicago
More than 30 Colorado high schools will be participating over the next three years in a pivotal project to support students in their long-term career growth and development.
Supported by Colorado Succeeds, Jobs for the Future, and NORC at the University of Chicago, these schools have been selected as participants in the On-Ramps to Postsecondary Transitions (OPT) program through the US Department of Education.
This opportunity will leverage current state career-connected learning programs and work to create a more cohesive experience for students. The program will follow the freshmen cohort of the 2024–25 school year and will focus on building successful on-ramps to postsecondary transitions (as is the OPT name).
The schools chosen will receive financial and technical assistance that will empower them to grow the following:
- College & Career Navigation
- Concurrent and Dual Enrollment
- Work-Based Learning
- A Continuum of Comprehensive Services or Wraparound Supports
In addition to additional funding, these schools will gain access to Jobs for the Future and Colorado Succeeds extensive resources, play a part in a national research opportunity supported by NORC, and advance their existing programs – all while students in the cohort have access to a more comprehensive and cohesive career program.
We are excited to announce that the following Colorado schools are participating in this opportunity.
