Colorado has a number of high school programs that allow students to obtain college credit, industry credentials, or work experience, but they can be confusing and hard to navigate, both for students and districts.
Recognizing the complexity of our system, the Secondary, Postsecondary, and Work-based Learning Integration Task Force was established through HB22-1215 to make recommendations for simplifying and expanding access to these programs.
The task force, made up of leaders from K-12, higher education, business, students, and non-profits engaged in career-connected learning, convened over the course of 18 months to arrive at a comprehensive report, detailing 13 specific recommendations to improve equity and access to these programs.
Below, a one-pager synthesizing the high-level recommendations, meant as a resource for the many stakeholders and partners in this work.
