Collegiate Peaks Bank Joins Colorado Succeeds

Colorado Succeeds is excited to welcome Collegiate Peaks Bank, Division of Glacier Bank to the network. We asked Piper Pierce and Carrie Patterson, PHR, SHRM-CP  three quick questions to learn more.

Piper Pierce
President-DTC

Collegiate Peaks Bank
Division of Glacier Bank

Colorado Succeeds: What was your first job?

Piper Pierce: Housekeeper

CS: What is an opportunity or challenge facing your industry?

PP: A challenge facing our industry is the economic unknowns that exist this late in the cycle.  Is the tide coming in or going out, how will this affect our clients, rate environment, demand drivers for different sectors in Denver and influx of population growth.

CS: What was an educational experience that was transformational for you?

PP: The most impactful education experience that I have had in my career is acting as the President for CREW-Denver (Commercial Real Estate-Women).  In this role I was exposed to several different areas of Leadership, ie. management of volunteers, programming events, marketing, sponsorship, growing a membership base and budgeting.

Carrie Patterson, PHR, SHRM-CP
AVP/Human Resources Officer
Collegiate Peaks Bank

Colorado Succeeds: What was your first job?

Carrie Patterson: Bingo Runner (sold bingo cards!) …or are we looking for 1st professional job here? That would be Retail Management at a clothing store.

CS: What is an opportunity or challenge facing your industry?

CP: Finding talent! Banking has had a bad rap due to the bail-out that took place over 10 years ago. Many students do not look at banking as a career option or see the possible progression that can take place even starting as a Teller.

CS: What was an educational experience that was transformational for you?

CP: Gaining HR Certifications – I had not been in a classroom in over 15 years when I took a preparation classes. It was nice to be a part of a group within the same profession and talking through so many scenarios.
