Operations and Administration Manager

Janelle joined Colorado Succeeds as the Manager of Operations & Administration in December 2017.  Prior to joining Colorado Succeeds, she was on the Teach For America (TFA) staff for almost eight years. Before TFA, Janelle served two decades as a key contributor, gaining experience in many areas of the public sector serving in public relations, marketing, logistics, leadership, operations and administration roles in Colorado. She began her career at the Colorado Tourism Board before moving into the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Quickly distinguishing herself, Janelle was promoted into the highest levels of the Governor’s Office serving as a senior staff member and Executive Administrator to then Governor Roy Romer. Janelle has also served Governor Bill Owens and Congressman Mark Udall in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District.

Janelle’s passion for educational change came while working for Governor Romer, and strengthened while navigating her own adult daughters through school. A graduate of Metro State University in Denver, Janelle is currently back at Metro State studying Chicano Studies as well as History in Southwest. She is a multi-generation Colorado native who wants to ensure that Colorado will be a great place to receive a quality education.
