Scott Laband is an experienced leader on a mission to make Colorado the best place in America to raise a child and grow a business. As the President at Colorado Succeeds, Scott works to unite business leaders committed to enhancing the state’s education system. With over a decade of experience shaping educational policies and programs, Scott is a social entrepreneur, leadership coach, and fervent advocate for the transformative power of education. His unwavering commitment is dedicated to ensuring that every child in Colorado has access to educational experiences that can truly change lives. Scott’s passion for initiating positive change positions him as a dynamic force at the crossroads of education, business, government, and community development.
Prior to his time at Succeeds, Scott served as the Legislative Director at the Office of Senator Michael Johnston, Marketing Manager at Qdoba Restaurant Corporation, and Associate at HVS International. An honors graduate from the University of Denver, Scott holds a master’s degree in education, leadership, and organizational change and a business degree from the University of Colorado.
Scott has completed leadership programs and fellowships through a variety of institutions, including Policy Innovators in Education Network, Pahara Institute, Joyful Impact Accelerator, and Leadership Denver, and is ‘Dare to Lead’ certified by Brene Brown. He is the recipient of a number of awards, including Advocate of the Year from the Colorado Technology Association, the Colorado Talent Champion by the Colorado Department of Education, and a spot in the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. Scott’s insights and expertise have been featured in publications such as MarketWatch, Fox Business, Entrepreneur Magazine, 9 NEWS, Denver Post, Denver Business Journal, Colorado Springs Gazette, Education Post, and Education Week.
Community Involvement
Scott serves as a board member for the Policy Innovators in Education (PIE) Network and the Business and Education Alliance. Additionally, he served as a founding board member for both Rocky Mountain Prep, overseeing twelve high-performing public schools in Denver and Aurora, and Third Future Schools, a charter management network with ten schools across Colorado and Texas. Additional contributions include participation on the Colorado Workforce Development Council’s Education and Training Committee, Governor Hickenlooper’s Task Force on Educational Agility, and Governor Polis’s Task Force on Student Success and Workforce Revitalization.

Scott grew up in Colorado and loves snowboarding, golfing, kayaking, snowshoeing, and hiking with his wife and three kids in the Colorado mountains.
